Your Guide to Al Fresco Dining

Everyone's Eating Outdoors

As you know, eating outside has become all the rage in the US and all around the world. Why is it so popular? Well, first we had no choice but to dine outdoors cause of the “you know what.” But after a while, we realized that being outdoors and getting some fresh air helps improve your mood, leading to less stress, better conversations, and maybe even better food.

It’s Not a Picnic

What actually makes the dining experience Al fresco? If you put out a blanket and bring some sandwiches sadly, that’s just a picnic with some friends. The Setting is an important part of Dining Al fresco. Some outdoor furniture with flowers, candles, music and lovely dinnerware will bring you one step closer to a unique outdoor dining experience with your friends and family.

All of the Lights

Guest and food are the most essential part of an outdoor dining experience, so when it gets dark outside, you want to make sure that they’re both visible. You can buy some Outdoor string lights on Amazon for around $20 to help light up the dining area and make sure that you can see your guest as you’re talking to them.

Check the Weather

It might look like a sunny day, but it can change real quick before you know it. Check the weather app to make sure that it will be somewhat consistent throughout the day. However, if you like spending time outside when it’s incredibly sunny, or maybe even when there’s a little rain outside, we have some solutions for you!

Pergolas are the way to go

First of all, what is a pergola? It’s a structure with four support beams, no walls, and a decorative roof design. A pergola can give you a shaded area where you can enjoy hot days without worrying about getting a sunburn. They also look beautiful!

Awnings

Awnings are rooftop covers that extend over certain areas like decks or patios. If you’ve ever seen an action movie, awnings are usually the covers that the hero falls through when he jumps from a 5-story building. So, they’re great for lots of different reasons.

Attached Patio Cover

Attached patio covers are a solid roof structure that provides excellent shade and the most robust protection against all the elements! They also look like a luxurious extension to the roof of homes.

Bye Bye Bugs

Depending on where you live in the world, it’s possible that you might run into a couple bugs while eating outdoors. Have some bug spray ready for the guest if they need it or perhaps bring out your citronella candle and it should help with those pesky bugs.

Food & Beverages

It’s great to make sure that the guests are having fun, but you need to have some fun too! Make food that’s simple yet delicious. Some tacos, a nice salad, perhaps even just some burgers and fries will help make your hosting duties much simpler. But if you feel the need to go for something like Duck Wellington, we’re not going to stop you!

You can never go wrong with Iced tea or lemonade for the entire family. However, some mojitos for the adults are always a recipe for a good time.

Ingredients for a Mojito: 3 mint leaves, ½ ounce simple syrup, 2 ounces of white rum, ¾ ounces of lime juice, club soda, Garnish with a mint sprig and lime wheel. Enjoy!

Get Yourself a Nice Patio

Patios not only add amazing value to your home, but they have become the most popular spot to entertain guests during the summer. As far as maintaining and cleaning goes, patios are easy. Imagine your In-laws calling you and they’re planning on coming over for dinner on SUPER short notice. What do you do? Give the patio a little sweep, and you’re good to go.

There are so many Patio designs to choose from, so the sky is the limit when you think about the perfect way to dine Alfresco. Flagstone, concrete, tile, and wood are some of the materials you could use for your outdoor patio.
